Making a Social Media Plan

Ideas are limitless — time not so much. Here are some ideas and tips to help you dive right in on your social media strategy.

I recommend at the beginning of every month take the time and make your social media calendar for the month. Next, start the writing and video or image design, and then schedule it to be posted.

Use a spreadsheet to help you keep track of it all.

Please use the following for inspiration and encouragement. Without a plan it can be overwhelming. With a preset plan, you’ll feel in control.

🦃 Turkey for 300 please

“Host of the ‘Black Men Sundays’ podcast and News 6 photojournalist, Corie Murray, has been working to get results for Central Florida families.

This Thanksgiving, Murray will have provided a turkey for more than 300 families in need.”

Do you and your business have plans for community outreach? Whether or not you get ‘publicity’ for your giving efforts, it will still be noticed.

Essential Strategy:

  • Volunteer and give back

  • Offer discounts or promotions

  • Create an event that can benefit many

  • And then be sure to tell your story, even if only on social media

💫 Pro Tip: Share your community involvement efforts through social media. Continue to highlight the positive reputation your company is earning.

✍️ Key PR Takeaway: Good public relations strategies isn’t just about getting on the news or TV, it’s about doing good, even when the spotlight shines upon others.

Useful PR Resources.

Silky Terrier Dog on a rock at the beach, tounge is out

Bob

Bob, a 4-year-old silky terrier, gives a head tilt when he hears some of his favorite words, like “walk” and “treat”. In order to protect everything that is his, he gives a mighty bark. When his owners finally give in to his overwhelming cuteness, he gets cuddles in the bed. And that my friends is a very happy Bob. When Bob isn’t busy cuddling, you can find him helping install gardens and inspecting all the work done by Gilley Garden Design in Napa Valley.
